2009-2010 Saab 9-5 Sedan Artist Rendering

2009-2010 Saab 9-5 Sedan Artist RenderingEarly look: 2010 Saab 9-5 sedan illustrated.
Some time next year, Swedish automaker Saab will begin production of a redesigned 9-5 Sedan. For the 2010 model year, the all-new 9-5 will take on an Aero-X-inspired look, while building on the existing model's somewhat angular roofline. Saab general manager Steve Shannon recently told dealers the company would reveal the new 9-5 later this year at a major auto show, according to trade publication Automotive News. Saab enthusiast website Trollhattan Saab has speculated the most likely venue is the 2008 Paris Motor Show in October.

Consumer Guide’s Impressions of the 2010 Saab 9-5
One key difference: The next 9-5 will be a four-door hatchback, reviving a Saab tradition, while the redesigned Buick and Saturn remain conventional “trunked” sedans. No word yet on a new version of the 9-5 SportCombi wagon.....Judging by a purportedly purloined Saab sketch that’s been making the rounds of the Internet, wheels will be pushed farther out, which we’d guess will add almost eight inches to the wheelbase with little affect on overall length. Width and height will also increase, probably by an inch or so.....The buzz on powertrains has the 2010 Saab 9-5 offering four-cylinder and V6 engines, both turbocharged per another brand tradition. For reasons of cost, performance, fuel economy, and emissions, the base powerplant should be GM’s 2.0-liter “Ecotec” four-cylinder with direct fuel injection.
