Prank goes something like this - few unsuspecting guys are invited on a blind date with a pretty blonde who happens to be a professional stunt driver and what happens when she pretends to be barely able to drive and then suddenly switches mode to a professional driver while still chatting with guys during their drive. Ford India Opens Vehicle Modification Center

Ford has launched India's first manufacturer operated vehicle customization center near it Chennai factory. Spread over an area of 35,000 square feet, this facility is equipped with 19 specially designed modification bays which will be operated by Ford's trained technicians. So now instead of waiting to get delivery of your new car and then getting accessories installed, customers only have to place an order with the dealer at the time of booking and all the desired accessories will be installed at the factory and then the car will be shipped.

To begin with Ford will accept customization requests for the new EcoSport SUV only and later this year all Ford buyers will be able to make use of it. Vehicle modification centre is offering three customisation options right now: 1) Spare Wheel (Cover) Pack for all EcoSport variants. 2) Alloys Pack - will include alloys and rear-spoiler for EcoSport's Ambiente and Trend trims. 3) Sports Pack - will include rear-spoiler, LED scuff plate, roof cross-bar for EcoSport's Titanium and Titanium (O) trims.

This initiative taken by Ford will further enhance the quality assurance and the customer experience when buying a new car with even the accessories being factory fitted now. Also the vehicle modification center is the first such Ford-operated unit in the whole Asia Pacific region, which goes on to show the amount of importance the growing India automobile market now commands.

Ford UK Launch Red Fiesta Limited Edition Model

The Fiesta is Fords most selling mid-size vehicle in the UK. And since its due for replacememnt soon, Ford is trying to come out with newer Fiesta limited or special edition models to make most out of this vehicle before its gets dumped. So moving on that line, Ford has now launched the Red edition Fiesta Zetec S. Named 'Red' since this model would be available in, you guessed it, only red color.

The Red edition of Fiesta is based on the Fiesta Zetec S, powered by a 1.6-liter four generating 100hp of power. Only 400 pieces of Fiesta Red edition will be created for sale in UK and will be offered at a price of £13,000. 2009 Ford Focus XR5 Turbo: Official Specs & Photos

The first Focus to debut Ford’s new Kinetic design philosophy, the iconic German-built XR5 Turbo flagship looks simply stunning. Powering the new XR5 Turbo is a 2.5-litre 166kW Duratec five-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, offering peak torque of 320Nm from 1,600rpm right through to 4,000rpm.

It looks as well as it goes too, with a completely new, more aggressive front bumper flanked by distinctive re-styled fog lamps and finished with a graphite mesh with signature honeycomb pattern. At the rear, the XR5 Turbo gets a new bumper with an integrated lower diffuser framing two generously proportioned exhaust pipes, with full LED tail lamps and an oversized rear spoiler.

This sporting pedigree is continued to the interior, with alloy sports pedals, leather gear knob, a unique leather three-spoke steering wheel and carbon-effect highlights on the instrument panel, centre console and switch bezels. The XR5 Turbo will come standard with enhanced in-car entertainment features and systems, including a premium centre console, Bluetooth with voice control, and a new ‘Ford Power’ start button.

Active safety features include standard Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Traction Control, Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). Among the passive safety systems are six airbags, pyrotechnic safety belt pre-tensioners and neck injury protection systems on the front seats.

In addition to the signature Electric Orange metallic hero colour, a palate of six other colours is available including new Frozen White, Panther Black, Moondust Silver, Sea Grey, Colorado Red and Performance Blue. The recommended retail price of the new Focus XR5 Turbo is $36,990 with options including power tilt/slide sunroof ($1,900) and heated Recaro Sports Leather seats ($2,000).

2010 Ford Fusion Photo Renderings

What you see here is what you can expect the new 2010 Ford Fusion to look like. These Fusion image renderings are created by guys at autocosmos and clearly shows the new grill which slightly moves up at the edges towards the redesigned headlamp to create a smile on the face.

Other changes in next generation Ford Fusion includes wider tyres and the grill secondary in the form of honeycomb plus the decent sized air-vents just above the fog lights. The sedans rear is noted for chromium that accompanies the logo and a dual exhaust outlet. The tail lights on production model are expected to be slightly different from what you see in the image here.

Yesterday KGP photographers managed to click some spy photos of the upcoming Ford Fusion prototype. You can see them at autoblog. While checking the spy shots keep in mind that these are of a prototype version and not the final production sedan. The headlights will have to be completely redesigned to adjust to the new broad smile grill. To get a somewhat exact picture of 2010 Ford Fusion you need to merge the spy shots with image renderings you see on this page. If you reach a conclusion, we will love to see it.

2009 Ford Ka Revealed: Spy Photos

The guys at Streetfire have posted some detailed shots of the upcoming 2009 Ford Ka. You can check the photos below. New Ka is expected to make its Euro debut at the Paris Auto Show in September, before hitting the showrooms towards the end of 2008.

Ford Ka is based on the Fiat 500 and it will be built alongside the Italian model at Fiat’s Tychy plant in Poland. Some reports suggest that Ford can come out with a partial hybrid variant of Ka along with a 100hp ST sport model.

Looking at the spy pictures of next generation Ford Ka below we just can't ignore how closely it resembles the highly successful Fiat Grande Punto. Interior pics reveal that the gearlever has moved up the dashboard, and the new speedo-dial goes all the way till 200 mark.

New 2008 Ford Mondeo Titanium X Sport For Europe

Ford has launched a new top-of-the-line version of its highly successful Mondeo in Europe. Named as the Ford Mondeo Titanium X Sport, the new addition is available in either a five-door hatchback or an estate (wagon) body-style. Buyer can choose from two engine options, with both mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission.

One is Ford's 220PS 2.5L turbocharged inline five-cylinder engine which is straight out of the current Ford Focus ST and the other is the new 175PS 2.2L four-cylinder TDCi turbo-diesel.

Being touted as a possible replacement for the the performance ST model, the new Titanium X Sport Mondeo comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, twin chromed exhaust tailpipes, body-colored side skirts and a sporty interior with red stitching on leather/alcantara seats. The aluminium trim is replaced with stylish piano black inlays.
