2009 Ford Fusion Gets New Engine Specs

2009 Ford Fusion Gets New Engine SpecsFord will offer a new range of more powerful and more fuel efficient engines in its updated 2009 Fusion sedan. A hybrid version had already been announced. The Detroit News reports that the midsize sedan's 160-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine will be replaced with a 170-horsepower four-cylinder with variable valve timing.

Its the same 170 hp, 2.5-liter found in the new Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner SUV. Coupled with a new six-speed transmission, the updated Fusion will be more powerful than the current model, and will boast better gas mileage.

There's also a possibility that the new Fusion could get an upgraded version of the 3.0-liter V6, along with a new front fascia and a revised interior. An official announcement by Ford is expected in a few months time before the updated Fusion goes on sale later this year.
